My Summer Car is a culturally loaded game that accurately depicts Finnish culture and many of the problems Finland was facing during the game's setting of 1995. Several jobs are available to the player, each with varying difficulty and payouts. While doing so, the player must manage their bodily needs and acquire money to pay for food, electricity, fuel, and other fripperies such as cosmetic Satsuma parts. A note left on the fridge presents the player with their main objective to fix up their father's disassembled, rusty 1974 Satsuma AMP, which has fallen into disrepair after spending its last years in the garage. You play as a 19 year old male whose parents have travelled to Tenerife for the summer. The game takes place in rural Finland during the summer of 1995.
